WHAT IS AN ORGANIZATION
When we think of an oganization, we think of people and we think of goals to be achieved. Therefore when two or more people work together to achive a goal or goals, they have formed an organization.
Acording to Agwu Akpala (1993), the goals may be such a thing as profit for business organization, spreading of knowledge for University, national defence for the Army or social satisfaction for social club.
In a more fomal way, an organization is defined as " any social structure or system consisting of two or more persons who are interdependent and who work together in a co-ordinated manner to attain common goals " ( Baron, 1986:10 ).
Monday and Premeaux ( 1993:196) also define an organization simply as " two or more people working together in a coordinated manner to achieve group results ".
As earlier mentioned, people and work are involved in a social structure called " Oganization ".
