From the material I have read about this topic I found that the higher the cultural level the job satisfaction and patient satisfaction levels are also high. No one wants to fire anyone but if the organization's culture is very clear and understandable then one has to adapt or move on. Here in the state of Kansas no one can be fired just because you don't like them or their age, gender, race, and beliefs. They have to have a lawful reason such as tardy all the time, sleeps on the job, or is rude to customers. If any one is unlawfully fired then they can collect unemployment wages for years. Don't want to be paying someone that is not on the payroll!
When it comes to the ethical aspects of the healthcare culture, we healthcare professionals are a culture of its own with many different beliefs and values from many different people all coming together to serve one purpose. Make sure that the ones who do not achieve or want to achieve that purpose be let go for the good of the company. They can't claim discrimination when everyone is fully aware of the organizational culture.
