Human Resource Management involves those decisions and practices that an organisation develops and implements which directly affect or influence the people or human resources who work for an organisation. Organisations require three main resources to be effective - physical, financial and human resources.
While the above requirements are deemed important to an organisation, the human resource is the most important since this is the resource that will give the company its competitive edge (Fisher et al. 1999). Creativity, initiative, and critical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA) are embodied in this resource and should be under close observation as these are vital for the further development of the business through substantive training.
In the following document, the aforementioned students will be investigating and drawing reference to the Arawak Cement Company and will attempt to identify and assess the Human Resource Management function training and by extension and more specifically, the training methods. The primary purpose of this document however, will be to highlight the importance of acquiring, developing, motivating and maintaining the human resources of an organisation through the use of appropriate training methods. The document will be divided into five sections, namely, literature review, methodology, presentation of findings, recommendations and conclusion. Nevertheless, due to the structure of the assignment all sections will be closely linked.
