The conflict issue occurred in the Vidsoft Technologies, Internet Company in California. The main problem is that Hsu, support engineer, approached to his senior manager, Babatunde, with the issue that he would like to transfer to another working team. Hsu did not want to report direct to and be supervised by Li after few weeks of this changes in organization structure. Hsu explained his request with many discredit reasons to Li, both her qualifications and his attitudes. Babatunde could not make a final decision yet. This situation involves in many aspects of organizational behavior such as decision making, ethics, and responsibilities. This problem could be a factor that lead to the obstruction in working processes and deter firm’s strategy and success eventually.
The situation in this case can be referred to the concept of strategic organizational behavior. First, I will analyze on Hsu’s argument which is focused on qualifications of Li. This issue represents individual factors that lead to the dissatisfaction outcome.
Several critics on Li were mostly based on his own perception. He judged the suitability of Li by relied on heuristic shortcuts, availability and representativeness. Hsu based his prediction of the result on the vividness or emotional impact. Hsu considered this issue with limited information, only people that have technical background with a science degree have been through the hardships.
