Foreword:
This research paper discusses three British food producing companies. The paper is based on visiting these companies’ offices.
Thesis:
The three firms that I visited have the leading positions in British Food Production.
I visited three companies operating in food industry. All of them produce bakery products. The first company that I chose was British Bakeries. British Bakeries Ltd. is one of the UK's biggest bread producers. The staff accounts of 6,500 workers. British Bakeries Ltd embraces several famous brand names that have become part of the British every day life: Hovis, Mothers Pride and Nimble - names which stand for quality (British Bakeries 2006). The data that are represented below illustrate the company’s level of development.
? The company provides approximately one third of the UK's everyday bread volume.
? It supplies every day to hundreds of large retailers and small private shops.
? Its clients are Tesco, J. Sainsbury, Asda, Somerfield, Safeway and Co-op (British Bakeries 2006).
? Its bakeries bake high-grade goods around the clock, all the year round.
? It produces 16 million loaves of bread and 6 million packages of breakfast tea products in a week.
? It supplies more than 450 various types of bread.
? The company is not focused only on bread manufacturing. It also supplies more than 850 types of other goods including crumpets, fruit buns, hot cross buns, croissants ...
