What Is Corporate Governace

Newspaper publishers should convert to electronic publishing over paper publishing as their primary product. Some book publishers offer already electronic versions of their textbook. Do you agree with this strategic change?  


In response to this I would say that several things need to be done before actually

making a decision about going all electronic for books, magazines, and newspapers, a 50/

50 ratio of both print and electronic, or leaving books, magazines, and newspapers strictly

printed.

 

            Rex Mitchell states that it is effective to think about strategic formulation as part of the process of strategic management.  He suggests that there are three stages: diagnosis,   formulation, and implementation.  (Mitchell, R., 2008).  

 

            The diagnosis phase includes evaluating the mission statement and objectives, along with the corporation’s major strengths and weaknesses.  (Mitchell, R., 2008).  The mission statement can be broad leaving the possibility open for electronic versions of previously printed books and the like.  The mission statement could be too narrow which would lead some managers to decide to not look at the alternative electronic versions.  The mission statement might not have a common theme and leave the managers wondering where the company is actually going. Objectives must be clear and concise so that managers can determine the long term planning for the company.  (Hunger, J.D., & Wheelen, T.L., 2008).  The external environment must be dealt with also.  This includes
