Introduction

      It used to be acceptable for an employee to claim “computer illiteracy” and be allowed to avoid using a new technology; however, in today’s highly advanced and technologically savvy world, that statement could possible lose that same employee their job or at least make it very difficult to gain any further advancement.

      Modern technology has the potential to transform an organization if properly used and managed. This paper reviews the issue of technology in the workplace, specifically the benefits and costs to employers and then how an organization or manager can not only just manage the effective use of technology but how to create proactive employees and maximize their productivity.
